State law says "An inducement gift is permissible and is not an illegal sharing of commission if the principal broker or affiliated licensee offering the inducement gift to a buyer or a seller complies with the underwriting guidelines that apply to any loan in the transaction for which the inducement has been offered." R162-2f-401l(1) In Layman's terms, an agent may offer to give back some commission or provide something else of valuable consideration as long as the loan underwriter approves of such inducement.
You are NOT allowed to give an Inducement Gift outside of closing.
